The project_
The thinking, the notebooks and the making.
The brief_
Andy Scott asked me to design a hardback book about The Kelpies. His thoughts, notebooks, interviews and the fabrication of the sculptures all needed a place in it.
The observation_
The finished sculpture is one part of that story. Andy wanted to share the thinking and the making as well. We had been at Glasgow School of Art together. He’s a good friend.
The application_
The book brings together the material behind The Kelpies, from the notebooks and interviews to the scale and detail of fabrication.
