Cromarty Cows Brie
Branding / Packaging

The project_
A classic cheese label. Look a little closer.
The brief_
Packaging for Highland Fine Cheeses and its rather eccentric owner, Rory Stone. The brief was to make it look classic, then hide a few details that would make him laugh. Things you might miss at first glance.
The observation_
The cow has six legs. Most people don’t see that immediately. The Gaelic line above it adds another small surprise: it translates as “sniff my cheese”. Rory wanted a Highland reference. He was delighted with that one.
The application_
The conventional shape and engraved illustration make the label familiar. The details reward another look. That balance was the brief: an apparently traditional piece of packaging with a sense of humour tucked inside it.
